Profit and Loss
Problem
A trader marks his goods 40% above the cost price and allows a discount of 25%. Find his profit or loss percentage.
Solution
Let CP = ₹100
Marked Price = 100 + 40% of 100 = ₹140
Discount = 25% of 140 = ₹35
Selling Price = 140 - 35 = ₹105
Profit = 105 - 100 = ₹5
Profit % = (5/100) × 100 = 5%
